Acupuncture is system of complementary medicine used to relieve
pain and to treat various physical, mental, and emotional conditions.
Acupuncture involves the insertion of ultra-thin, sterilized needles into specific points of the body, called acupoints. These acupoints are found all over the body, and are connected to each other by the acupuncture meridians or channels.
The Chinese character for Qi
The body’s energy, called Qi (pronounced “chee”), flows continuously thru these meridians.

- Assists in the prevention against disease.

- A holistic approach to illness that links body, mind, and emotions.
WHY EAR ACUPUNCTURE?
Ear acupoints can be used by themselves or with a whole body treatment. This technique is particularly effective for mental/ emotional conditions such as anxiety, insomnia, PTSD, even pain.
WHAT IS ACUPUNCTURE BASED ON?
Acupuncture is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). These medical theories and treatments originated in China perhaps as long ago as 5,000 years ago and are still being developed and revised by today’s acupuncturists all over the world.
HOW DOES ACUPUNCTURE WORK?
The acupuncture needles affect the person’s Qi. If our Qi is in balance, we can become healthier and stay healthy longer.
IS ACUPUNCTURE PAINFUL?
Acupuncture is not a painful procedure. Acupuncture needles are solid, made of steel and very thin. Therefore, there is not the the discomfort associated with hypodermic needles that are used to give shots. All acupuncture needles are pre-sterilized and used only once (and disposed of after treatment).
